It happens every year around this time.  My desk is clean!  Why?  Because tomorrow afternoon I leave for a 4 day National Scrapbook Day retreat and everything is packed up! Ha, ha.  That tote there behind my diet Pepsi glass is packed and ready to go.  The ATG gun will also be packed to go  The copics in the basket will be put away and are only there because I need to take a photo of them to go with a challenge post for Monday and the Graphic 45 calendar page is also there so I can take a photo of it.  It will be in my blog post for tomorrow (May 1st).  Even the floor of my crafty room is clean! I vacuumed it last night.

So what’s on you workdesk today?  If you care to share and would like to visit other workdesks in blog land, click here to head over to Julia’s Stamping Ground and What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday #256.

Have a fabulous day!

Oops! I was supposed to share this project Friday but…well, you know. Ha, ha.  Anyway, this is my sports box and album that I’m working on using Graphic 45 Good Ol’ Sport Paper Collection.  I designed the box and the album using skills I’ve learned from tutorials and kits with Kathy Orta Files of Paper Phenomenon.  I think I’m going to call it “Play Ball!”  It’s a fairly good size box with hinge handles on the sides and back.  The one on the back helps you to hold it while you pull out the drawer where the white knob is.

With the drawer open, you can see the album inside.  It is a hidden hinge album.

Here’s the album standing in the drawer.  I have not finished the pages yet and will be decorating the top of the box and the front of the album.  I’m currently looking for some vintage type SVG files or baseball files to cut. If you’ve seen some, let me know!   I also have the matching chipboard pieces for this set from Graphic 45.

Not sure if I’ll be sharing much more on the blog this week or not.  I will be leaving around noon on Thursday for a 4 day NSD Scrapbook retreat hosted by Cat’s Creations Scrapbooks.  I still have some packing to do AND office work that must be done before I leave.  It’s definitely a time crunch issue!  There will be a post on Friday that I’m pre-scheduling for the next Digi Haven challenge.  I have a cute, summery card to share.

Happy Crafting!

I once again found myself three prompts behind on the Journal 52 challenge/project.  For those just beginning to follow my blog, Journal 52 is a Facebook group where you receive a prompt each week for your mixed media art journal. You then post your finished page in the Facebook group photo album.   I usually wait and do two weeks at the same time since I have all the art stuff out but lately I’ve been doing three weeks at a time.  Once I post this week’s page I will be caught up until Saturday.
The page above was for the prompt “Rain or Shine” (Week 14).  I love both sunshine and rain and thought I’d try to put them both on the page.  If often happen here in Texas that you will have the sun shining and it will be raining at the same time.  That’s probably something that happens everywhere.  I colored the page with different shades of Tim Holtz Distress Inks in blue and then added in the yellow in the center.  I used Unity rubber stamps to stamp the rain drops, cloud and umbrella.  I used alphabet letters to stamp “Rain or Shine” and then a Unity sentiment stamp for the “One Day at A Time.”  The numbers stamped on the right side are numeral stamps. Then I finished it up by adding some Wow embossing powder and teal flakes.

This next page (shown above)  is for the prompt “Party Animals” (Week 15).  When a prompt says animals, I always think of my cats.  And partying to me was in my youthful days in the 70s. Ha. Ha.  So I decided to write the words “We are all party animals from the 70s.”  This page was created with a template for the circle shapes on the background and Golden Modeling Paste.  Once that dried, I used different colors of Tim Holtz Distress Inks and my fingers to color each circle and the spaces between them.  I cut out different cat images and collaged them onto the page.  I love this “psychedelic” 70s page!

And then my third page is for the prompt “Recycled Art” (Week 16).  I decided to use all recycled things on the page (except for the ink and date stamp).  I started out using scraps of masking tape on the background then some wall board mesh tape and bits of paper towels.  Then I colored all of those with various inks. Next I collaged on to the page words from a Chipolte restaurant paper cup, images from a magazine and the phrase “Matters of the Heart” from the same magazine.  Then I added a fortune from Panda Express which says “Be as willing to take advice as to give it.” Which seems like very important advice for matters of the heart, don’t you think?

And that’s my Journal 52 up to date at least for today!  Tomorrow I hope to share a project that I’ve designed and started on for my grandson’s baseball and football photos.  I used Graphic 45’s newest sports papers and it’s looking really awesome.

Have a great day and Happy Crafting!

Well, what’s going on here this week?  My desk was clean so I could continue on with a project this week but then somehow I started just piling stuff down that needs to be put away….box of finished cards, monkeys (yes, monkeys), a few notebooks etc.  The project I’m working on this week is my Camera Box and Mini album.  You can see the box better if you scroll down to yesterday’s post or click >HERE<.  Really, though it’s not it too bad of a mess.  I can just set those few things down or go ahead and put them up and I’m ready to go.  But I may not get to work on the Camera boxes until Friday night or the weekend.

So what does your workdesk look like today?  If you haven’t already, click >HERE< to head over to Julia’s Stamping Ground, WOYWW #255 where other crafters from around the world link up their blog post to show you what they are working on or what they need to clean up. Ha, ha.

Have a great day and Happy Crafting and thanks for stopping by.  I hope to visit several WOYWW peeps this week!
