We rarely have a white Christmas here in north Texas but that's okay, it doesn't stop me from thinking about snow and a white Christmas when I create Christmas cards for Operation Write Home. Here are a few cards I created a few weeks ago.
First one is created with a pre-colored digital stamp of wreath & birds. The birds are attached with a bit of foam tape to make them stand out a bit, scrap papers for the background and a "Merry Christmas" stamp with four red rhinestones added to the corners. Quick and simple. (Digi Stamps are from Fred, She Said Designs.) I also used glitter pens to add just a touch of sparkle on the holly berries.
Next up is a real easy project. The entire design is made from some gorgeous paper scraps I had in my stash. (I also scrapbook and save the large pieces of favorite papers for card crafting.) I love the trees in the paper so I cut a circle around them to make them the center point of the card. Scrap paper for the background and stamped "Joy" on the corner and then added a felt bird which I think is Basic Grey.
I love this next card (sorry it is dark--I took it with my iPhone). The snowman is a stamped image that I colored with my Copic pens and cut out. I attached him with foam tape. Added the verse and a felt snowflake that I had in my embellishment box. The other snowflakes are cut from some Christmas ribbon (felt) that I bought after Christmas last year at Target. I bought two rolls and absolutely love using the snowflakes on my cards. After a holiday always check the gift wrap section for clearance items that might work for card creations.
Just returned yesterday from a scrapbooking retreat in Mt. Calm, Texas where I created over 65 cards! Doubt that I will photograph ALL of them but will for sure snap a pic now and then of a few as I get them ready to ship to Operation Write Home.
Have a wonderful week!
