Glory is the Shadow of Virture

Cat's Creations Scrapbooks ~ WOW Wednesday
Operation Write Home Midweek Throwdown -  Any Hero Cards
Operation Write Home Sketch #131
Stamptacular Sunday Challenge ~ Patterns Galore (use three or more)

Wednesday afternoon!  After having to actually work in the office to get reports done and such for the first of the month,  I finally found a bit of time to do some crafting but it has not been easy.  Some days you just can't find your mojo, your crafty inspiration etc.  and I really wanted to create something to share for WOW Wednesday with my LSS Cat's Creations Scrapbook in Mineral Wells, TX.  Luckily I checked my email and a message from Operation Write Home was in the inbox about today's Midweek Throwdown--encouraging and challenging us to make Any Hero Cards.  So with that as a new goal and the Operation Write Home Sketch for this week to work with, I created this  card to send to a hero.

And because I used three different patterned papers AND stamped the stars, this card also works for the current Stamptacular Sunday challenge!
Creation Details:
  •  OWH Sketch #131
  • All of the papers, printed and solid, are from the Authentique 6x6 Bundle, Glory Collection
  • Navy Blue with silver edging ribbon from Really Reasonable Ribbon
  • Operation Write Home Hero Arts Clear Stamps for the Stars and the "Thank You" sentiment
  • Ranger Distress Ink, "Firebird"
  • Tuxedo Black Memento Ink
  • Stampin' Up Sentiment Punch
  • Foam Tape
  • Glory Quote:  If you flip over the Authentique Glory 6x6 Bundle, you'll find on the back the quote "Glory is the Shadow of Virtue." ~ Latin Proverb.  Awesome!  And since it coordinates with the colors of the papers, I used it on my card.

I also worked on another card, but haven't quite finished it yet.  I'm actually following an online tutorial and making a pop-up card. This one is pretty basic as I'm just trying to follow along and get the cuts in the right place.  I think it will turn out cute and will share it tomorrow here in a post if I get it done. Not sure if it will fit in with any current challenges but it's okay to just share a card for fun now and then.

Remember that my blog hop candy contest is still going on!  You have until August 12th to become a follower and leave a comment on the Giveaway Post.   CLICK HERE to be eligible for a chance to win a Mix & Match set of Faber-Castell Stamper's Big Brush Pens and a Hero Art's Cling Stamp!  There's also a way to earn bonus entries too!  If you comment on any or all of my blog posts between July 25th and August 12th (in addition to the comment on my original blog candy post)  you'll earn a bonus entry for EACH comment you post!

Thank you Marilyn! Since it’s a learning project and not finished yet I didn’t give details on that pop-up card I’m working on but the colored images….I did not color. Those are pre-colored ones you get with some digi stamp sets like the one we did for the Copic calendar we made for the month of March. Ha, ha. But thanks for the compliment. Guess I should have mentioned that one thing. ๐Ÿ™‚ReplyCancel

Love your AnyHero card – I *REALLY* need to break into that Authentique Glory paper pad that I bought, too. I’ve loved every card you’ve used it on – I knew there was a reason I bought it! LOLReplyCancel

Allison! I can’t believe you haven’t used that paper yet!! I bought two of the 6×6 pads and some of the 12×12 pages. Cat ordered a bunch of the 12×12 so if we need more, it’s at the store!ReplyCancel

I just love your “AnyHero” Card! Love that ribbon too! Looks like its from RRR club. I bought the paper kit of this collection just for this purpose. It’s almost too pretty to use but you have inspired me!ReplyCancel

LOVE that Any Hero card!! The sheet music really elevates it and how great to have that quote on the paper to use! I used to make pop up cards quite a bit until I started mostly making my cards for OWH, which require the cards to be blank inside. They’re grand fun and people always seem to enjoy them. Looking forward to seeing yours!ReplyCancel
