my-haunted-house-1

Hello there! Hope you are all having a wonderful day. It’s Halloween and it was my plan to record a video on these little houses I made and upload it to my YouTube Channel. But I guess because it is Halloween some spooks are playing with my internet and I keep getting an upload error. So it’s not going to happen.  I’ll just have to make do with this photo.  I made two of the houses with the Tim Holtz Cottage dies. I love how they turned out.  I used lots of different patterned papers and cute embellishments to get the look I wanted.  In the above photo they have their tea lights on (battery powered) and are in front of the Jack-o-lantern I carved yesterday.

So there’s my Halloween blog post for today! I hope you all have fun tonight and stay safe!

Happy Crafting!

Well it’s here! The last day of my Thirteen Frights Before Halloween. Tomorrow is the big scary day!  In twelve days, I’ve shown you how to make a cute Halloween Gift Bag album and today on the thirteenth day, I’m showing you a bonus project–a Julie Nutting Halloween Tag.

I know I said that today’s post would be late but I didn’t expect it to be this late!  The video has been up and live for a few hours now but I didn’t have time to get the blog post done.  We had other things that had to be done like carve pumpkins and go out for dinner.  So, please accept my apology for being late but at least I did get the post done today!

There’s not much else to say except to share the final video for my 2016 Thirteen Days Before Halloween:

If you are reading this post in an email, you will have to go to my blog or YouTube channel to view the video.  Videos do not show up in email subscriptions.

Again I want to thank all of you that have been following along for this blog/YouTube event that I have each year.  It is so much fun to work on something every day and share it with all of you but I wouldn’t be able to do it all that time! Ha, ha.  Anyway, since it’s hard to quit “cold turkey” so to speak, I do hope to have another blog post and maybe a video tomorrow for Halloween to share a little something else that I’ve made.  It won’t be a tutorial but I think you’ll find it spooktacularly fun! And then I plan on taking a few days off from crafting and videos to get caught up on some other things like design team projects/files and class kits.

Happy Crafting!

It’s DONE!!! The album.  Yep, finished it TODAY.  All the ribbons are tied on for the binding, all the pages are patterned and decorated and all the photo inserts with tabs are made.  Yep. It’s done and it’s only Day 12!! What’s a person to do??? Well, make something else on the 13th day, that’s what!! In today’s video for the 12th day, I show you how I inserted ribbons and made them into the binding and then I go over a few last details of decorating and proclaim it done!

Here’s the video:

What am I going to make for Day 13?  How about a Julie Nutting Halloween tag?  That’s what I’m going to do on SUNDAY AFTERNOON, October 30, 2016.  My video and blog post will not be up until probably 3 or 4 p.m. Central Daylight Savings Time on Sunday.  I will be using some of the same papers from the Julie Nutting Bootiful collection for the tag plus one of her stamps.  So be sure to check back then.

I do want to thank each of you for following along here on my blog and on my YouTube channel. The videos will always be there for you to watch anytime you’d like.  I hope you each have a very safe and frightfully fun weekend.  I’m hoping to have another Halloween project share here on my blog Halloween Day.

Happy Crafting!

The pages are all decorated (I think)!  In the video for Day 11 I finish up on the last few pages so that tomorrow (Day 12) we can bind the album with ribbon!  So excited to see it finished!! Once it is put together, I’ll go over the pages again and maybe add a bit more decorating here and there just because I can. Ha, ha.

Here’s the Video for Day 11:

So what are your plans for Halloween?  Scary movie? Trick-or-Treating? Spooky dinner? Haunted House? Whatever you have planned I’m sure it will be fun.  I hope to maybe make something else for Halloween during the day like maybe a few of those Tim Holtz cottages.  I’ve only had time to make one.  And in the evening–dinner with hubby and maybe a fun Halloween movie.  Be sure to check back tomorrow for Day 12 of my Thirteen Frights Before Halloween.

Happy Crafting!

It’s Day 10 of my Thirteen Frights Before Halloween!  I love this frightfully fun page with the cute glittery Jack-o-lantern with a rat on his head!  Today I decorated more pages in the album and had to fix a mistake that I made yesterday. No biggie just had to move something to a different page and re-decorate one that I did yesterday. You’ll see it in the video.  So we are down to the last few days for this project.  Tomorrow I’ll decorate the last pages and then on Saturday, Day 12 I’ll add the ribbon binding and finish up any decorating details that I might want to add. And then on Sunday for the 13th day, I’ll do a bonus project and show you how to make a Julie Nutting Halloween tag.

Here’s the video for Day 10. (Sorry that it was much later this morning–a bit longer video takes a whole lot more time to upload!):

It’s getting closer and closer to the big scary day! Sadly we no longer have any trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood as we live out in the country and all have grown up and now days most take their kiddos into town for trunk or treat and festivals.  But I still like to decorate inside the house a bit which I’ve yet to get done–today is the day!
