Okay, so I figured a blog post about nothing would be better than no post at all, right?

This is my work table  this morning after a 4 a.m. card session. Yes, I typed that correctly–4 a.m.

You see, I’ve fallen victim to  the “crud” aka viral respiratory infection, i.e. a cold and/or allergies or as my doctor believes though I’m also being treated for said allergies (mountain cedar pollen) it is in fact viral as now poor hubby has it.  Anyway, this morning at 4 a.m. I had a coughing attack and since sleeping  is impossible until the cough meds kick in—I worked on a card for the Operation Write Home Blog Skip.  Most of the items remaining on my work table were used in the creation of that card but I can’t share the card until Saturday, so be sure to check back then bright and early and skip along to the other participating blogs too.  I’ve been sick since Thursday night but think I’m improving some each day.  At least half of yesterday I was able to craft and today I’ve been scheduling blog posts though none will go live until Thursday evening.  It seems that most of the blog challenges that I currently design for will have challenges that start on the first.  It will be a busy day here on my blog on Friday so that’s why one of them will actually post on Thursday evening.  If you visit on Friday, be sure to scroll down so you won’t miss any of them.

And, please, try to stay well as crafting at 4 a.m. though very quiet is no fun at all!

Hello crafty friends! Just another quick post to share a sneak peek here on my blog and to invite you to check out my post today on The Stamping Shack.   There you will see what I created with this adorable image AND a video tutorial.

I hope you’ll stop by and leave a comment there and here!  {Hint: I used an empty toilet paper tube for this creation!}

Happy Crafting,

I loved, loved, loved coloring this adorable birthday image, Dragon Blowing Candles by Eureka Stamps, one of our sponsors for the new Seems a Little Sketchy Challenge.

Copic Coloring List:

  • Dragon G40 G99 YG03 YG06 YG63
  • Dragon’s Cheeks RV04
  • Flame Y15 Y35 YR07
  • Candle BG000
  • Cake E47
  • Frosting on Cake RV21 RV32

Because of the direction the dragon was facing (and I didn’t think to flip it in Word), I flipped the sketch.  Here’s Sketch #31 for this challenge:

Now, it’s your turn! Let’s see what you create with this sketch and be sure to link it to Seems a Little Sketchy for a chance to win a prize!  You’ve got two weeks!

Have an awesome crafty day!

I made some Valentine cards this week for my Etsy shop.  I know it’s almost too late to sell, but you never know when someone might need something.  Besides I love this idea (I made one last year for Operation Write Home) and since I had some flowers in my stash (lots of them that I’ve had for years!), I decided to make these cards.

It’s really simple.  I cut a card stock pattern heart shape.  Lay it on the printed paper and lightly trace the heart shape with pencil.  Then I add the flowers with a drop of white glue to the center of each flower.  I put them on randomly but try to arrange the patterns and different shades to make it look full. It doesn’t take very long at all to add the flowers.  Then I add a bit of Perfect Pearl or Stickles to the center of each flower.  The top two cards the word “Love” was pre-printed on the patterned paper  and the two in the second photo have tulle ribbon and “Love” stamped in black.

That’s all for today.  I hope to get back upstairs and work on more cards for various design teams and maybe make a few more Valentines.

Have a Happy Crafty Day!
