MoJo Monday Sketch Challenge #243

I wanted to create a special card for our granddaughter who graduated from high school last night. I used the current MoJo Monday Sketch and this super cute grad digi named “Graduation Dolly” from Pixie Dust Studios plus a keyhole from the Tim Holtz Idea-ology collection.  I tied a key to the fastener that I fashioned with jewelry twine and two brads.   The card opens up to the side and has a pocket on the inside (left) for cash.  The finished size is 6 inch x 6 inch and I presented it to her without an envelope so I needed a latch or closure o keep it securely closed as I didn’t want the money to fall out while walking into the restaurant!

The digital image was colored with the Copics shown below:

 Creation details:

  • Mojo Monday Sketch #243
  • “Graduation Dolly” digital image by Pixie Dust Studio
  • Copics as shown above
  • Tim Holtz Idea-ology keyhole
  • Key charm (jewelry findings section of craft store)
  • Sliver/Gray Tulle for bow
  • Ledger Printed Paper from Authentique “Glory” 6×6 Paper collection
  • Dotted paper from my stash
  • Gold Delight paper from Authentique “Free Bird” 6×6 Paper collection
  • Cardstock – dark grey and red cranberry
  • Dark Red Brads (2)
  • Dark Brown String (jewelry twine)
  • “Wish Big” sentiment, rubber stamp from Stampin’ Up

Congratulations to our Emily…we hope that she will always “Wish Big!”

What’s On Your Workdesk? Wednesday #156

Hello Workdesk Wednesday visitors! Hope you’ve had a fabulous week! I got to do quite a bit of card crafting and participated in a special Memorial blog hop. To see what I’ve shared, click on older posts and scroll through it all.

Today, my workdesk is in a bit of a mess. At least I think so, and for sure would have to put away a few things before I could think of tackling a new project.  This time I decided to photograph it from a different direction so you could see a bit of what is on the side wall.  I have a counter height bookshelf unit which houses my sewing machine that I use strictly for sewing on paper, my Cricut, my Ott light, Cropadile, Circle/Oval cutter and to the side of that are cubicles for my 12×12 paper.  (For a better look, I think you can click on the photo and it will enlarge it a bit–maybe.)

On my actual workdesk which is a 3 foot x 3 foot bar height table, I’ve moved some things away so I could keep my Copics case to the left of where I do all my coloring.  I moved my big Tonic cutter to a space off of my workdesk which is behind me and to the left.  I put it on my grandmother’s old Singer sewing cabinet.  This does free up some space on my workdesk though you certainly can’t see it. Ha, ha.  I have on here a finished card that I posted on my blog yesterday, 12×12 papers that I’m looking at for another card and the digi image that I want to color for those papers.  In those clear plastic containers (on the lower right and far right) are some new Stampin’ Up rubber stamps I received on Friday via UPS delivery.  Underneath the 12×12 papers is a rotary cutter that I’m trying to get the hang of using on my pink We R Memory Keeper cutting mat along with those three clear rulers that are standing up in the revolving Pampered Chef (white) holder just in front of my pink ATG gun.  Those are Perfect Layers rulers and their purpose is to let you cut perfect mats with just one of the rulers and your rotary cutter in various sizes.  I’ve used them several times and think they are quite useful.  I’ve just got to get a sharper blade for my cutter or learn to hold it steadier to avoid uneven cuts!

Busy day today!  Our oldest granddaughter is graduating from high school tonight.  We’ve got a dinner, the ceremony and celebration party to attend.  It’s hard to believe that our sweet baby Emily will be going to college next year!

If you have the time, be sure to click over to Julia’s Stamping Ground blog and visit other’s on the linky list to see  how their workdesks are looking!  And Happy 3 year Anniversary to Julia and  the What’s on Your Workdesk? Wednesday meme!Today, Julia’s added the option of an ATC swap for those who are sharing their workdesk this week.

Happy Crafting,

Tuesday Morning Sketches #148
Pixie Dust Studio Pixie Challenge ~ Tasty! All About Food
OWH Our Daily Bread Designs Challenge ~ May 2012

Here it is the Tuesday after a long weekend.  And after such a holiday, I’m always confused by what day of the week it is—I’ve been feeling like it’s Monday all day long! In an attempt to straighten myself up, I’m posting a Tuesday Morning Sketch Challenge using an adorable “Girl Stuff” digital image by Pixie Dust Studio which also works for the current Pixie “all about food” challenge. And because I used five elements on this card, I’m also posting it for the May Operation Write Home Our Daily Bread Designs challenge.

This cute “Girl Stuff” Octopus is all ready to go shopping while enjoying a tasty cup ‘o tea and only spilling a few drops!  The five elements on this card creation are 1) Digi Image, 2) Doily, 3) Ribbon 4) Dew Drop Bling and 5) Patterned Paper!  “Girl Stuff” is colored with the Copics shown in the photo below and a touch of sparkle is added to her eyes and flowers with Spica glitter pens!

 Creation Details:

Here’s the thing about the Operation Write Home Our Daily Bread Designs challenge…the deadline is June 1st.  If 50 cards are linked to this challenge, ODBD will pay for TWO boxes of cards to be shipped to the troops instead of just one.  As I type this and prepare to go link my card, I will be #46 or 47.  Please consider creating a card for this challenge!  Be sure to check the card guidelines for OWH.  Thank you!

Seems A Little Sketch # 14

This is my second sketch in May that I’m the  guest designer for  Seems A Little Sketchy, but starting next month (June) I will be on their regular Design Team! Yay! Love these sketches!! For this one, I’m using the adorable digital stamp “Milton’s Good Book” from Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps.  Isn’t he the cutest mouse?  And I love the sunflower!  I thought this image would go great with my rubber stamp sentiment “Next to the Cat, I Like You the Best.”  It makes me laugh.  The sentiment, not the card. Ha, ha.

Creation Details:

  • Seems A Little Sketchy sketch #14
  • Digital Stamp: “Milton’s Good Book” by Sweet ‘N Sassy Stamps
  • Papers:  Echo Park’s “Hello Summer” 6×6 double sided paper pad
  • Flowers:  Petaloo “Mulberry”
  • Sheer Hot Pink Ribbon Bow
  • Gold Heart Charm from my stash
  • Sentiment:  Rubber Stamp from Impression Obsession Stamps
  • Copic Markers ~ Colors shown below

This would be a perfect card to give to my husband! We have cats and often you’d think we loved or liked the cat the best. Or maybe, he could give it to me!

Have a great day!
